The foreign-born (FB) population increased from 8,661 in 1970 to 12,748 in 2010. That was an increase of 48.0 percent. The foreign-born share changed from 6.1 percent to 7.0 percent.
The share of the overall population that was native-born (NB) increased by 28.0 percent.

The first chart below shows the three population change factors for three periods adjusted for annual average amounts. In it, domestic migration (NDM) was the primary factor in population increase for the most recent period, replacing B-D in the first two periods.
The second chart shows the same data but with an adjustment to reflect births to immigrants shifted to NIM. In it, NIM replaced NDM as the largest factor in population increase in the second period and was the sole factor adding population in the most recent period.
