Population

The Sebring Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) population 1/ increased from 29,507 in 1970 to 98,700 in 2010. That was an increase of 234.5 percent.

The foreign-born (FB) population increased from 786 in 1970 to 9,538 in 2010. That was an increase of 1113.5 percent. The foreign-born share changed from 2.7 percent to 9.7 percent.

The share of the overall population that was native-born (NB) increased by 210.4 percent.

Sources of Population Change

The primary sources of population change are:

The first chart below shows the three population change factors for three periods adjusted for annual average amounts. Domestic migration (NDM) was the primary factor in adding population in the first two periods, while NIM was the sole factor adding population in the most recent period.

The second chart shows the same data but with an adjustment to reflect births to immigrants shifted to NIM. In it, the relative positions of the three factors influencing population change were unchanged.
