The foreign-born (FB) population increased from 64,274 in 1970 to 76,206 in 2010. That was an increase of 18.6 percent. The foreign-born share changed from 6.5 percent to 7.1 percent.
The share of the overall population that was native-born (NB) increased by 9.4 percent.

The first chart below shows the three population change factors for three periods adjusted for annual average amounts. Natural change (B-D) was the primary factor in population increase in the first two periods, and NIM was in the most recent period.
The second chart shows the same data but with an adjustment to reflect births to immigrants shifted to NIM. In it, NIM replaced B-D as the primary source of population increase in the second period. Domestic migration (NDM) was negative throughout the three periods.
