The foreign-born (FB) population increased from 4,815 in 1970 to 63,501 in 2010. That was an increase of 1218.8 percent. The foreign-born share changed from 4.0 percent to 14.9 percent.
The share of the overall population that was native-born (NB) increased by 209.5 percent.

The first chart below shows the three population change factors for three periods adjusted for annual average amounts. Domestic migration (NDM) was the primary factor in population increase in the first two periods, replaced by B-D in the most recent period.
The second chart shows the same data but with an adjustment to reflect births to immigrants shifted to NIM. In it, NDM remained the principal factor adding population in the first two periods, but NIM became the main source of added population in the most recent period.
