The foreign-born (FB) population increased from 7,256 in 1970 to 53,527 in 2010. That was an increase of 637.7 percent. The foreign-born share changed from 0.8 percent to 4.3 percent.
The share of the overall population that was native-born (NB) increased by 23.4 percent.

The first chart below shows the three population change factors for three periods adjusted for annual average amounts. Natural change (B-D) accounted for a majority of the population increase in all periods.
The second chart shows the same data but with an adjustment to reflect births to immigrants shifted to NIM. In it, B-D continued to be the principal factor in population increase for the first two periods, replaced by NIM in the most recent period.
