The Deltona-Daytona Beach-Ormond Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) population 1/ increased from 173,941 in 1970 to 590,289 in 2010. That was an increase of 239.4 percent.
The foreign-born (FB) population increased from 9,635 in 1970 to 47,068 in 2010. That was an increase of 388.5 percent. The foreign-born share changed from 5.5 percent to 8.0 percent.
The share of the overall population that was native-born (NB) increased by 230.6 percent.

The first chart below shows the three population change factors for three periods adjusted for annual average amounts. Domestic migration (NDM) was the principal factor in rising population in all periods.
The second chart shows the same data but with an adjustment to reflect births to immigrants shifted to NIM. In it, NDM remained the primary factor in population increase.
