The Danville Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) population 1/ decreased from 97,047 in 1970 to 81,625 in 2010. That was a decrease of 15.9 percent.
The foreign-born (FB) population increased from 1,297 in 1970 to 1,782 in 2010. That was an increase of 37.4 percent. The foreign-born share changed from 1.3 percent to 2.2 percent.
The share of the overall population that was native-born (NB) decreased by 16.6 percent.

The second chart shows the same data but with an adjustment to reflect births to immigrants shifted to NIM. In it, B-D remained the chief factor adding population in all periods.
