The Casper Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) population 1/ increased from 51,264 in 1970 to 75,450 in 2010. That was an increase of 47.2 percent.
The foreign-born (FB) population increased from 787 in 1970 to 1,422 in 2010. That was an increase of 80.7 percent. The foreign-born share changed from 1.5 percent to 1.9 percent.
The share of the overall population that was native-born (NB) increased by 46.7 percent.

The first chart below shows the three population change factors for three periods adjusted for annual average amounts. Natural change (B-D) was the main source of added population in the first period, and NDM had that role in the two most recent periods.
The second chart shows the same data but with an adjustment to reflect births to immigrants shifted to NIM. In it, the same pattern of factors of population change continued to apply.
