The Gettysburg Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) population 1/ increased from 57,273 in 1970 to 100,839 in 2010. That was an increase of 76.1 percent.
The foreign-born (FB) population increased from 3,130 in 2000 to 4,027 in 2010. That was an increase of 28.7 percent. The foreign-born share changed from 3.4 percent to 4.0 percent.
The share of the overall population that was native-born (NB) increased by 9.8 percent from 2000 to 2010.

The first chart below shows the three population change factors for three periods adjusted for annual average amounts. Domestic migration (NDM) was the major factor adding population in the first two periods, replaced by B-D in the latest period.
The second chart shows the same data but with an adjustment to reflect births to immigrants shifted to NIM. In it, NDM remained the primary factor adding population in the first two periods, and NIM teplaced NDM as the main source of added population in the latest period.
